Twin announcements this week are expected to make basketball in the Valley bigger than ever.

USA Basketball, the group that runs American teams for the Olympics and other international competition, will move its home to Glendale, promising a big economic boost and plenty of rising stars.

And the city expects to learn soon that its big stadium will host a men's Final Four, the culminating weekend of the NCAA college basketball playoffs.

For fans, it's a double-barreled prospect.

One announcement brings a long-term presence for top-tier basketball training, making the Valley home to exhibition games and possibly future Olympic teams.

The other delivers another nationally televised national-championship game to the Valley.
