Kodak sues Samsung, LG over camera patents
ROCHESTER, N.Y. - Eastman Kodak Co. says it is suing Samsung Electronics and LG Electronics over digital-camera patents.
The photography products company alleges Monday that camera phones made by the South Korean electronics companies and their subsidiaries are infringing its patents related to image capture, compression and data storage, and a method for previewing motion images.
The lawsuit filed in federal court in Rochester seeks unspecified monetary damages.
Kodak also lodged a complaint with the International Trade Commission in Washington, D.C., a move aimed at stopping imports of products made with infringing technology.
