What the boss makes

This database features annual compensation totals for chief executive officers of Arizona-based public companies, based on proxy statements filed within the past 12 months through June 23, 2008. Chairman compensation is included for those firms that split the CEO and chair positions. Also included are non-CEO executives of Arizona-based public companies who earned at least $1 million in 2007. Pay totals include option exercises and stock vesting, but exclude stock and option awards that have been itemized on the companies' summary compensation tables.

The top executives of Phoenix-based Freeport McMoRan Copper & Gold head the CEO/chairman list. Chairman James R. Moffett earned more than $44 million last year while CEO Richard C. Adkerson made more than $41 million. In 2007, the median CEO pay was about $869,000, a drop from $1.1 million in 2006.

The information is organized alphabetically, by company name. Searches can be made according to the following categories: Company name, the executive's name and position and total compensation. After your initial results, sort the information alphabetically or numerically by clicking on the header columns.
