Ahwatukee woman slams door on man with gun

An Ahwatukee woman opened her door early Sunday to find a man pointing a gun at her.

At about 5 a.m., the 24-year-old woman heard a knock at the door of her apartment complex in the 11000 block of S. 51st St., according to Phoenix police.

She opened the door and an unknown man told her he was looking for someone in her complex, Sgt. Frank Matsko said. When the resident pointed toward another apartment, the man pulled out a black handgun.

The woman immediately slammed her door, locked it and called police, Matsko said.

The unidentified man fled.

Officers searching the area were unable to locate the man, Matsko said.
