Ashlee Simpson has still not given birth

Rumors spread that Ashlee Simpson reportedly went into labour with her first child over the weekend.

The 'Little Miss Obsessive' singer's husband, Fall Out Boy rocker Pete Wentz, was said to have texted his friends on Friday night telling them the happy news he and Ashlee would soon be welcoming their first child into the world.

A source close to Pete told 'Life and Style Weekly' magazine: "Pete texted his friends last night that Ashlee is in labour!"

The rumor was further fuelled after Pete wrote on his blog he would be cancelling his scheduled appearance on 'Larry King Live' "due to breaking news and scheduling conflicts".

However, a representative for the 24-year-old singer has denied the claims, adding to TV show 'Access Hollywood' that Ashlee "has not yet gone into labour".
